Dan Harris Video From Skeptic to Meditator

Dan Harris is a ABC News reporter. He had a panic attack as he doing an anchor segment on air. Of all the places to not to have an attack that might be number three, a panic attack before a national viewing audience.

Anyway, he is a person who constantly declares that he is rooted in science and not woo-woo stuff.  Which I believe translates into he does not engage in faith based systems and requires proof before acceptance.

I suspect more than a few of you believe the same thing. Which is why you won't even consider meditation. That would be a mistake. It really does work.

This is a video of Mr. Harris talking about his journey from on-screen panic attack to 10% happier via meditation.

For some of us with an anxiety condition it is a short detour, it gets resolved. For other people we’ve been on this dang road a long time; some since childhood, our teens or early twenties.

Anxiety and Your Body Requires Respect

Once upon a time there was a man who felt that someone was disrespecting his name. He was being interviewed on a radio program and at some point he laid out the grounds for continued conversation.

It was lyrical.

Another group of musicians likes what they heard and put together a little ditty that captures the spirit of what Birdman (yes, Birdman) wanted from his radio host.

When it comes to an anxiety or panic condition you better put some respect on it. Recognize that you have a problem that requires one or more than one solution. Some of those solutions you do not want to do.

That is your choice.

If you ignore it, postpone it or others try to continue doing what you are doing (and getting less than zero benefit) there will be repercussions.

Those repercussions will not be pleasant.
They will, however, be visible.

Episode 049 - Three Ideas to Cope with Anger

I'm no less angry than I was last week but anger without a constructive outlet is dangerous. Besides, I got extra dark chocolate with 72% cacao.

I do want to add if you are being cultural assaulted or the news is too much it is very okay to take a media break. It is important to be informed but it is equally important to take care of yourself.

Nurturing is not a dirty word. Walking without an electronic device is even better.

I take great solace that I am, forever, culturally disobedient. You can be too; be selective in what you see, listen to and participate in. Ignore known idiots and take in restorative media.
